thedeconstructivemind asked: Brother, I have been venturing into qigong at your suggestion. All I can say is wow. It has synergized well with both my yoga practice and meditation practice. Of course, I am still very much a beginner but even basic breathing techniques are amazing. Thank you so much for your advice and guidance. I really want to find a teacher for further training but I am sure when the time is right the...

talkingtrashhh asked: Hello again :) I was reading Eckhart Tolle "Power of Now". I know that you have recommended his readings and i as I was reading Ch 2- The section dissolving the pain body. I couldnt wrap my head around an understanding about what a/the pain body is? On p.37 toward the bottom is says the pain body wants to survive just like every other entity... and a couple lines down it says it can...

expandingyourmind asked: I really don't need an answer for this...but I guess I'm in a doubtful mood and could use a boost of encouragement. but can one get into yoga without instructional classes and dvd's? can't one just look up positions, and do them alone? (i know this is obviously rhetorical. but I have always wanted to do yoga and haven't pushed myself into actually beginning the habit and...

Shutting Down and Rebooting the Chakras
To begin with, let me say this isn’t literally shutting down your chakras. Shutting them down would mean dying.  However, each of our chakras run on a kind of affirmation or feeling. For example, people with type A personalities in high-powered jobs tend to have an overactive solar plexus chakra. They are full of energy and purpose but they derive it all from the job. That energy and...

LazyYogi Bedtime Stories: Shiva's Death
Many cosmoses ago, when the Creation was young, Shiva was once a mortal. Things were different back then. Reality was soft. Thoughts, feelings, and manifestations traded space in a tantalizing fluctuating dance.  Samsara was what we might call the Garden of Eden. Everything was perfect…but illusory.  The first gods were the first humans. They ate the proverbial fruit of knowledge and...

Meditation Post-Game
Since I did my usual 45 minutes of meditation this morning, this evening I did 30 minutes of open-eyed sitting meditation. It was like abiding with the Tao.  It was really wonderful. I think this is what I will do in the mornings and then move my meditations to the evening. See how that feels.  Anything you’d like to share about the stillness?
