Westerners have a difficult time feeling the energy of the divine, the twisting of the tao. This is because we have become hard, building up walls around our minds and hearts.

We analyze everything in our surroundings but only bother to understand them as far as they relate to our Doings and no further. We have a palate of emotions that pop up precisely on cue, the prompting of which we obsess about. How to cultivate the most happiness and avoid the most pain? That is the goal of modern society.

This is why we have evolved personalities and a sense of self. A personality could be said to be nothing more than a collection of preferences. But it is by these preferences that a person leads a life, avoiding math but loving english, hating meat and eating vegetables, or seeking love and avoiding conflict.

You emerge from this maze by becoming soft. This is a kalahari bushman concept. You become soft when you let go of yourself and let the divine assume responsibility for you. You move into the ocean of god and let the sun cook you in its waters. This is how you can become loose and natural. This is the way to spontaneous bliss.

The kalahari accomplish this by singing ecstatic songs and letting energy shake their bodies like wild.

There are a number of ways to become soft. They all require surrender. Whether that’s through massage, meditation, or dance. When you let go, an unfathomable depth occurs. Things just start passing through you.

This is the way back to your natural state. As Jesus put it, “unless you change and become likelittle children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” Children are naturally soft, they let life strike them. But children don’t have the presence of mind to be non-reactive.

The trick is to meditate, become non-reactive. Then let life happen. It becomes effortless.

Namaste.
