Joyful Abandon

A Young Bodhisattva Mixing Life's Swill into Tantric Cocktails of Blissful Perfection

tarotblades asked: What is samadhi?

Samadhi is existence without definition. There is no ‘I’ and nothing that the ‘I’ is perceiving. Instead, there is just…e x i s t e n c e !

My first time coming into it was in India at my guru’s ashram. It felt like my body was dissolving and it scared the shit out of me. I snapped out of meditation and my heart was pounding harder than I ever knew it could. My guru told me I was starting to give into simply Being but had trouble letting go. His advice was to become more intimate with surrender and faith.

There are many existing definitions of the word samadhi but I am using it purely in the spiritual technological sense. Not historical or strict linguistic definition.

It isn’t something attained but rather fallen into. It’s hard to describe, or impossible. :P
