lilshroom asked: You were saying how we don't want money, we just want the security we think it provides, etc. Someone replied with this: "Money actually does provides security, if you have money it means you will have shelter, electricity will stay on and insures your next meal without recieving it as a handout. Fame actually makes people alot more prone to criticism compared to someone who is not famous. and if you have power over a situation." What are your thoughts on this?
I think every line in that post could be debated from that perspective. Why not?
The point wasn’t to make a statement about not needing money. If you are going to live in society, you will obviously need financial income.
Money isn’t important. Money is important because. The value of money is in what it does, not in its existence.
When money starts effecting your outlook on life beyond simple survival (like shelter and food) then you are falling prey to confusion.
By all means make money, have money, use money. But have your head and your heart straight on that matter.
More than anything else, that post was speaking to the ego’s perception of the world rather than the facts of society.
Namaste :) If there’s one thing that tumblr has taught me, it’s that there is someone somewhere always willing to take the other side of an argument. It’s quite magical.
