This boils down to “Live for the Whole and the Whole automatically lives for you.”

Because you are a part of the Whole to the extent that you are the Whole reflecting the part and the part reflecting the Whole.

The entire reason why tibetan buddhists are so rife with love and compassion is because interdependence is a major facet of the way they understand Existence. You are only here because I am here and I am only here because that tree is over there and this planet is only here because of that subatomic event, and so it goes on. It’s hard not to be overcome with love and compassion when you start feeling reality as one giant living bowl of spirit soup.

If a single atom in this entire universe were missing, the whole of the cosmos would feel its loss.
