The Lazy Yogi

The world doesn’t need spirit. The world is spirit. The occupants of this planet suffer from a severe amnesia, a convincing delusion of separateness from one another. Until we come to terms with that, we simply wont be living sanely. 

Spirituality means emergence from the illusion of separateness. Once you have emerged from the temporary into the eternal, of what use is spirituality? None. Spirituality is necessary for those of us suffering from divine forgetfulness, who need to Wake Up beyond birth and death.

By this I mean to say that spirituality is not religion. Spirituality is the method for awakening. Religion is something to believe in, something to get answers from. But on the spiritual path you find no answers, instead it is the silence that you listen to. That is where you find transformation. It is not about being sacred or avoiding the profane. It is about results; it is about dropping the habits that create the ego. 

The spiritual path is like science; it needs to change in order to reflect our understanding of Existence as that perspective transforms.

Therefore spirituality is needed because we have created the need for it. When we created illusion, we made it necessary to create truth. Once you emerge from illusion, there is no need for truth.

There are as many paths to the divine as there are people to walk them. This is because each of us live in a world that is entirely self-created. Once we take responsibility for that, everything changes.
