The Lazy Yogi

After much deliberation, I have decided to try out this suggestion of doing a book giveaway. I love my spiritual books like crazy and it is difficult to part with them, as they have been teachers and friends along the path. However, I understand the beauty in sending them on their way to continue to bring light into the lives of others. 

The Prize

It is with no little trepidation that I offer my book Zen Mind, Beginner’s Mind by Suzuki Roshi as the first book for this giveaway series. For me, it was the best book on Zen and mindful living that I have ever picked up. 

Each chapter is only 4-7 pages long and yet it may take several reads before grasping the totality of what is being shared. This book is very special. 

The Contest

This will be a photography contest. If you have a fantastic camera, great. If you only have a cellphone cam, that’s just as good. The content of the picture is what will be judged, not necessarily the quality. 

I love Halloween so much and so I thought it would be fun to make this giveaway true to the spirit. 

To me, Halloween is about walking between worlds. It is the time of year people dress as their hero or horror. Fantasies and stories are brought to life and the night becomes a backdrop for mischief and mayhem.  

Each and every one of you live in unique places. It may be the same old location to you but to the rest of us it is an alien terrain. As such, I am asking for photograph submissions of your own personal landscape. 

Show us the world outside of your doorstep. Through your picture, take us to a unique place that is both otherworldly and magical. The more ‘halloweenish’ the better. Get eerie, get weird. 

The Rules

To be considered eligible, first you must reblog this post. That will be considered your registration. 

Then start taking pictures! There is no limit to how many pictures you can submit. Tag your entries as: #lazyhalloween. 

First Prize wins the book Zen Mind, Beginner’s Mind. 

Second Prize wins a free tarot reading. 

Third Prize wins…something. I’m still deciding. 

Entries will be accepted up through Halloween and then the winners will be announced on the same day.

This is just a fun little thing to do and I will probably be reblogging my favorite pics posted along the way.
